WILLIAM CROSBIE RSA (1915-1999) 

Described by the Royal Scottish Academy as “one of the finest and most singular Scottish painters of the twentieth century”, am Crosby trained at Glasgow School of Art and in Paris under Ferdinand Leger. He was Elected ARSA in 1953 and RSA in 1974. Major retrospective exhibitions of Crosbie's work were held at Aitken Dott's (now The Fine Art Society) in 1980, the Ewan Mundy Gallery in 1990 and the Perth Museum and Art Gallery 1990. 

Crosbie's paintings hang in all of the major museums and galleries in Scotland as well as the Royal Collection and the British Museum in London.
