TREVOR OWEN MAKINSON (1926-1992)
Glasgow-based painter of portraits and landscapes. Trained at Hereford School of Art and the Slade School in London. Lectured at Glasgow School of Art and the University of Glasgow. Exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, the Royal Scottish Academy and elsewhere.
Described by Dame Laura Knight as an unrepentant adherent of the traditional representational of British painters His work is held by several public collections, including the Glasgow Museums Resource Centre, Hereford Museum and Art Gallery, Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum, and the University of Strathclyde.
