Thomas Campbell Mackie

CAMPBELL MACKIE MBE, ARIBA, ARIAS (1886-1952) Thomas Callender Campbell Mackie was a Scottish artist and architect, originally from Helensburgh. He studied at Glasgow School of Art under Eugene Bourden, where he was regarded the “most promising of architect students, gifted with outstanding imagination of unusual quality and supreme draughtsmanship”. He later became head of the design section of Glasgow School of Art. He exhibited at the Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh, and the Royal Academy in London. He was also an Associate of the Royal Institute of Architects and the Royal Institute of British Architects. He was awarded an MBE in 1918.
